Welcome to the Edmonton & District Pipe Band Web Site.

The
Cragvore Music Society was formed in 1989 with the goal of creating an intermediate level competing and teaching organization for the Edmonton area. Since that time the band has grown substantially and now consists of three complete units, ranked in the Grade 2, 3 and 4 levels by the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association. The band is incorporated as the Cragvore Music Society and wears the Ancient MacLean of Duart tartan. It currently consists of 44 pipers and 26 drummers - making it one of Canada's largest pipe bands.

The band performs at events and concerts as well as local parades throughout Alberta. They are very proud of the annual
Traditions concert at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton as well as the live CD that was produced from the concert in 2001.

In 2001 the band was the Alberta Aggregate Champion in Grades II, III and IV.

The band practices every Monday night at L'Academie Vimy Ridge Academy.

Joining the Band
The band is always looking for quality people (musicians) who would like to contribute to our competition and performance success. We would particularly like to encourage drummers who are motivated and enthusiastic about joining a competitive Grade II band which also offers concert/fusion and repertoire development opportunities.
"It's all about the music."
